Introduction & % ^poUND * tifld ^ Poor'S Register of Corpo^ions, Directors, and Executives was first published in 1928 by the then s publishing Company. At that time the Register represented the first major publishing effort in providing po0rtional "Directory of Directors" covering the entire United States. Today, with this its 51st publication, Register is generally acknowledged as being the foremost guide to the business community and the ^ cutiveS who run 11 has Since its inception maintained a progressive program for refinements and addi- e%e tions t0 its data and has in a sense reached out beyond the scope of a national publication with the inclusion o,nfrCbaunsaindeiassn pbeuospinleeswsoesrladnwdidme atojorreiancthertnhaetiionndailvicdouraplosrawtihoonsm. Tahkies "hbausybinegen" ddeocniesioinnsr.eWcoigtnhiintioints opf atghees, nethede Agister provides the richest market in the world for whatever product, proposition or service is being offered. ARRANGEMENT of DATA S&P's Register has been designed to provide easy access for whatever reference is being made. It is arranged n three volumes and also includes cumulative supplements. All of the indexes have been consolidated into Volume III for ease of use with either Volume I or Volume II. Volume 1--Corporate listings. Straight alphabetical sequence by business name of approximately 37,000 corporations including zip codes; telephone numbers; names, titles, and functions of approxi mately 390,000 officers, directors, and other prin cipals; names of company's accounting firm, pri mary bank and primary law firm; Standard Indus trial Classification codes; annual sales and number of employees where available; division names and functions; subsidiary listings separate with refer ence to parent companies; principal business affili ation and address of executives, if other than the subject company. Volume 2--Individual listings--Directors and Execu tives Section. A straight alphabetical list of ap proximately 75,000 individuals serving as officers, directors, trustees, partners, etc. Provides principal business affiliations with official titles, business ad dresses, residence addresses and where obtainable year and place of birth, college and year of gradua tion and fraternal memberships. Volume 3--Indexes. Divided into six color-coded sections; Section I--Standard Industrial Classification Index (Green Pages) explains the construction and use of the SIC code numbers, and lists these numbers by major groups and by alphabetical and numerical division of major groups. This section may be used as a reference to determine quickly the appropriate SIC code number for the line of business in which a company is engaged. Section 2--Standard Industrial Classification Codes (Pink Pages) lists corporations under the four Digit Standard Industrial Classification Codes which are arranged in numerical order. Approximately 900 different SIC codes provide a defined breakdown by a company's line of business. Many companies have multiple listings in this section depending on the various industrial activities in which the com pany is engaged. Section 3 Geographic Index (Buff Pages) lists companies appearing in the Register geographically by states and by major cities. Business names are in alphabetical sequence. Section 4 Obituary section (Green Pages). Records the deaths of which publishers have been notified in the past year. For identification, each obituary shows the individual's principal business affilia tion, business address, and, if available, the date of death. Section 5 New individual additions (Blue Pages). A complete alphabetical list of individuals whose names appear in the Register for the first time. The principal business connection and business ad dress is given for each individual. Section 6--New company additions (Blue Pages). J complete alphabetical list of the companies aj: pearing in the Register for the first time. The pri cipal business address is given for each compar Introduction (continued) REGISTER SUPPLEMENTS. Register subscribers ore entitled to interim supplements which contain detail? changes which have occurred since publication of the annual volume. These supplements are usually pu lished in April, July, and October of ever/ year. Each supplement is cumulative and only the latest need be kep EDITORIAL COMPILATION and UPDATING PROCEDURES The work of keeping the Register up to date is carried on throughout the twelve months of the year, Proc are sent annually to every listed corporation and individual for recording any pertinent changes since th publication of the preceding year's issue. Standard <S Poor's computerized facilities are used in storing, up dating, and photo composition of this data. Daily news services, press announcements, trade publication Standard & Poor's own editorial staff, and of course individual contact by interested members within the bus ness community have contributed to the completeness of this publication. In as large and comprehensive a undertaking as the Register these efforts result in extensive changes in our data from year to year. For example the number of individual and corporate listings in which major changes occurred since our last edition is i excess of 100,000 and the number of actual revisions necessary to bring this edition completely up to date i over 600,000. In effect, each edition becomes a 'fresh" one with new opportunities for buyers and seller alike to pinpoint their most profitable markets. There is, of course, no charge to be listed in S&P's Register. OUR APPRECIATION We again welcome this opportunity to thank all those individuals and corporations who have cooperated in reviewing proofs and responding to our requests; and particularly our subscribers for their loyalty and suppor as well as their helpfulness in calling to our attention changes in our corporate and executive listings. Withou you there would be no Register. It is only through this joint participatory effort that we are able to present in his our fifty-first annual edition a work of unusual thoroughness. Finally, we renew our commitment to con inue, through the use of data-processing equipment, photocomposition techniques, and up to date profes sional publishing technology, our efforts to provide maximum value to all users of the Register. The nature and magnitude of the work, however, make it impossible for the Publisher to guarantee complete accuracy. ll t Introduction .(^GHOUNT) 6 Peer's Register of Corporations, Directors, and Executives was first published in 1928 by the then s Publxsning ^crr.cany. At that time the Register represented the first major publishing effort in providing a raz-evjz- Director/ o: Directors' covering the entire United States. Today, with this its 51st publication, ojps Register is generally acknowledged as being the foremost guide to the business community and the ^gcntLves who run. it. It nas since its inception maintained a progressive program for refinements and addi_ :c us data and nas in a sense readied out beyond the scope of a national publication with the inclusion , - Canadian businesses and major international corporations. This has been done in recognition of the need v-r business people worldwide to reach the individuals who make "buying" decisions. Within its pages, the rovides the richest market in the world for whatever product, proposition or service is being offered. i-RANGE1 of DATA rp's Register has been designed to provide easy access for whatever reference is being made. It is arranged volumes and also includes cumulative supplements. All of the indexes have been consolidated into Talume EH for ease of use with either Volume I or Volume H. VbLume I--Corporate listings. Straight alphabetical sequence by business name of approximately 37,000 corporations including zip codes; telephone numbers; names, titles, and functions of approxirnately 390,00C officers, directors, and other prin cipals; names of company's accounting firm, pri mary bank and primary law firm; Standard Indus trial Classification codes; annual sales and number of employees where available; division names and functions; subsidiary listings separate with refer ence to parent companies; principal business affili ation and address of executives, if other than the subject company. Individual listings--Directors and Execu tives Section. A straight alphabetical list of ap- directors, trustees, partners, etc. Provides principal business affiliations with official titles, business ad dresses, residence addresses and where obtainable year and place of birth, college and year of gradua tion and fraternal memberships. Volume 3--Indexes. Divided into six color-coded sections: Section I--Standard Industrial Classification Index 'Green Pages) explains the construction and use of the SIC code numbers, and lists these numbers by major groups and by alphabetical and numerical division of major groups. This section may be used as a reference to determine quickly the appropriate SIC code number for the line of business in which a company is engaged. Section 2--Standard Industrial Classification Codes (Pink Pages) lists corporations under the four Digit Standard Industrial Classification Codes which are rranged in numerical order. Approximately 900 different SIC codes provide a defined breakdown by a company's line of business. Many companies have multiple listings in this section depending on the various industrial activities in which the com pany is engaged. Section 3--Geographic Index (Buff Pages) lists com panies appearing in the Register geographically by states and by major cities. Business names are in alphabetical sequence.
