Registr ition Forms are on pages 7, 9 and 11. They should be photocopied out of your registration package in order to keep all of the conference information together. The use of these forms for advance registration entitles you to lower registration fees and ensures tickets to the various activities. Kennedy was Governor Deukmejian's choice to fill the post which had been vacant since Deukmejian took office. As Assistant Manager of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Kennedy established himself as a knowledgeable water leader, well aware of the needs for future development and equitable distribution of the State's resources. But, he has also been sensitive to the environmental issues that have become an integral part of water development in California. Many of the original buildings still remain . . . and the tour will show visitors this mining town that at one time in the 1800's had a population of over 100,000 people. The tour will go on to the capital city, Carson City, for a tour of the Governor's Mansion . . . then on to a nearby resort -- Walley Hot Springs which is supplied from natural geothermal springs ... for lunch. The Executive Assistant (Marlene Lockard) to the Governor of Nevada will greet the spouses and be the featured speaker at lunch. Following lunch, the bus tour will continue through other nearby historical sites: Genoa (an old staging town for pioneers on their trip West), Jack Valley with many historical buildings, and the Bower Mansion (a fully restored mansion from the past). The group will leave at 9.00 A.M. and return that afternoon at 4:30 P.M. A simple "hi" would not suffice. Arden says "Hello" to the movie capital of the world twice nightly in a spectacular called, appropriately, "Hello Hollywood, Hello!" Arden is aided in his "Hello" by a cast of over 100 dancers and singers who, with Arden,-pay tribute to the great MGM studio legend and the stars and movies that are a part of a by-gone era. But again, Arden doesn't give just a simple tribute; the rousing curtain-raiser is nothing short of spectacular. Arden converts the world's largest stage into Reno's Cannon International Airport, complete with an almost life-size DC-9 on the stage. The plane, a mock-up built for the production show, is embellished by stewardesses, dressed in gold bikinis. The opening number welcomes Hollywood to Reno and the MGM Grand Hotel and then gracefully slides into a tribute to the dance musicals of the 30's and 40's. But, he has also been sensitive to the environmental issues that have become an integral p t:t of water development in Californio. SERVICE CONTRACTOR-United/' Bender Exposition Service has been selected as the official service and decorating contractor for the 1984CAL NEV MEETING. Exhibitorkitswill be provided after the initial booth assignment on Sept. 9. 1984. Exhibitors will be responsible for furnishing details and specifica tions for display requirements within any deadlines established by the service contractor.
