This is also my last week at the Partnership and I plan on going into the administration over at HUD as well. As we discussed, I am greatly interested in serving in the Department of Interior in the new administration. More specifically I am interested in the position of Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management; however, I would of course be open to other positions should I be able to better assist Secretary Zinke and the administration. I have spent the last ten years in the energy industry and I have been privileged to be a part of the industry during a period of great innovation and rapid increase in domestic oil and natural gas production. Most recently I helped to build an oil and gas investment firm that managed private energy assets valued at $1.4 billion prior to the downturn in commodity prices in late 2014. As a result, I have a deep knowledge of all facets of the oil and gas industry including the mineral leasing process. While I have worked primarily in the oil and natural gas sectors, I also had exposure to coal and coal-related technologies during my time working for former Secretary of Commerce Bob Mosbacher. I plan to be in D.C. in the next couple of weeks and should there be anyone with whom you would recommend I meet, I would be grateful for the introduction. Resume attached. No, I am not permanent yet. My 120 days are up in 18, so hopefully I'll be somewhere by then. Maybe we'll work have a chance to work together on management things. Thanks, Scott Scott J.
