We were unable to find our stubs of blend certificates sent you, but fortunately you were able to find and lend us your copies of the certificates. One of our chemists now suggests it was the practice in 1929 to send the Ethyl Corporation samples of Esso for testing in their laboratory for knock rating and lead content.' May I ask you to have the situation studied and tell me if between March 4 and September 5, 1929 your laboratory received and tested samples of Esso from our Charleston Refinery. I will be particularly interested to knowif such samples were sent you by our representatives or secured at the Refinery by your representatives. If samples of the mix were sent you or were picked up by your repre sentatives and analyzed in your laboratory, it will be very helpful if we may have the result of the analysis.
