Vaughn CARBON MONOXIDE STUDY AT CPE On May 19, 1978, a study of the carbon monoxide levels which CPE personnel may be exposed to was completed using the Model 31 Draeger pump with tubes. The only reading that exceeded the OSHA threshold of 50 ppm was obtained when a fork lift went up toward the front of the trailer, and the Draeger pump was about 6 feet away from the exhaust Carbon monoxide will build up in an enclosed area such as a van or trailer, therefore, we must not leave the fork lift running under these conditions. We do not appear to have a problem with over-exposure to carbon monoxide in the CPE Plant. Attached is a copy of the study. R. S.
