Both our 5525-M Taping Compound and our 5535-B Finishing Compound continue to get good field rep'orts and we believe that a ll of our sales w ill be with these products in the near future. 2. We have decided to change the number of 25 lb . bags on a p a llet and it w ill be increased to 100 bags per pallet from the present 80 bags. This w ill help us in our material handling problems and make a more uniform-size p a llet, since the 50 lb . texture bags are already 2,500 lb s . per p a lle t. This now means that a ll dry-powder joint compounds and w all textures w ill be 2,500 lb s. per p a lle t. Ready-mix cartons w ill continue to be 2,400 lb s . per pallet and the ceilin g texture w ill be 50 bags per p a lle t, which w ill vary in weight depending upon the ceilin g texture sold, since the 6373 is 31 lb s . per bag and the 6374 is 40 lb s. per bag. 3. Dan Murphy reports that the work is about done on a 5515-M A ll- Purpose Joint Compound and that W alt Pickens w ill be able to start field testing this in the next week or s o . Along with th is , he plans to have a 5535 -C Finishing Compound which w ill be like the "B" Formula; however, he thinks we can have it slightly better with minimum rewetting. 4. W alt Pickens has had our 6373-H and our 6374-H tested by one of the largest accounts in the Bay Area and received very good reports on both products. W e now feel that both of these products are fu lly ready for sale to a ll acco u n ts. 5. pl^iMilier repdrts"that the la te st bulletin on the use of asb estos in joint cement and paint products indicate that we w ill not have to eliminate it from / our formulations immediately; however, it w ill be necessary for us to provide proper respirator devices for the men and have lung X -rays made of the workers at least once each two years. Further information on this w ill be put out to each of the manu - facturing operations by Bob M iller. ------- 6. We have temporarily caught up on our lab work for our regular joint cement compounds and w all textures, so that we can now assign full priority to Dan Murphy's work on a lower-cost ceilin g texture with extra mileage that would make us equal to H am ilton's.
