RE: Invitation to Speak at Shale Gas Conference on September 6, 2017
Dear Mr. Pruitt:
I am a member o f Steptoe & Johnson PLLC, a law firm with core strengths in energy, as well as other areas of the law. I am an energy lawyer with over twenty years' experience representing oil and gas entities. I am also involved with various energy foundations and trade groups, including the Institute for Energy Law and the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation.
I am co-chairing the 8 th Annual Law o f Shale Plays Conference, sponsored by the Institute for Energy Law/Energy & Mineral Law Foundation. The Conference will be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 6 and 7, 2017 (at the Omni William Penn, downtown). While I understand that you are extremely busy with multiple commitments, I write to respectfully ask if you would consider being our honored luncheon speaker on Wednesday, September 6, 2017.
The attendees will include attorneys and other corporate executives and professionals in the energy industry throughout the Appalachian Basin. As you know, our industry played a very important role in getting the country back "on track" and electing President Trump to take the reins to lead our great nation. This was, in no small part, due to the support of companies and individuals in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia. Thankfully, President Trump was able to bring rational, intelligent Americans into the highest leadership roles of the Cabinet, including the Environmental Protection Agency.
Many have told me that you would be far too busy to even consider my request, and I acknowledge that may be very true. However, I know that all of our members and attendees would be thrilled to hear you discuss the direction that the energy industry will play in the Administration's plans to "make America great again!"
