This information will be used to refute erroneous and misleading statements which are being made concerning the health hazards associated with the use of asbestos and related fibrous materials. Scope A research laboratory program is proposed to study the biologic effects of asbestos fibers, fibrous glass and related fibrous materials* Mb* stances to be investigated will include naturally-occurring chrysotile, aaosite, crocidolite asbestos fibers, synthetic chrysotile, fibres* glass, asbestos fibers known to cause cancer in animals, as well as trace elements on the surface of asbestos which may cause cancer.
