Morris, Chief, Industrial Real Property Livision, of your office submitting in outline form for your consideration a proposal to amend the Agreement of Lease dirted March 22, 1946, covering a portion of Plancor 264 at Lake Charles, Louisiana, to include in the "leased premises" the residual unleased portion of Plancor 264 under terms and conditions therein stated. Subsequently, there have been numerous discussions between repres nta- tives of Southern end of your office reletive to a possible outright purchase by Southern of all or pert of such unleased area. The lest such discussion took place at Lake Charles on Lecember 4, at which time, in company with Messrs. Pitcairn, Hutchison, Hultmen and Clerk of Southern, I met T.lth your Messrs. Rodd, Engler and Mattson. ( After a thorough examination of the property in question and a full discussion of the matters involved in its disposal by your Administra tion, it was agreed that we would give the matter further study and would submit to your office a formal offer to purchase the residual unleased area of Plancor 264 at a price and under terms and conditions which, in our opinion, would be fair end reasonable. Pursuant to the above-mentioned discussions, our proposal of May 15, 1947 is hereby withdrawn and the within offer to purchase is substituted in its stead. 1. Under the terms and conditions hereinafter outlined, Southern offers to purchase the residual portion of Plancor 264, not presently includ under the Lease Agreement of March 2, 1946 and not heretofore sold to Gulf States Utilities Company, at a price of $50,000. 2; The property to be purchased is to include the lend itself, aporoximately 13 acres, together with all brick buildings presently erectea thereon, the oil storage building, the brine reservoir, the gas holder end the water well, all of which are to be left undisturbed by your Administrati ana transferred intact to Southern.
