Meeting with Occupational Health Division of Health Branch Department of Health Services and Hospital Insurance Victoria, 3.C.
Subject: HIGHER TETRAETHYL LEAD CONTENT IN MOTOR FUEL
The meeting was held on Thursday, January 14, 1$60, at 10:00 A.M. at the Occupational Health offices. Present were Dr. John L.M. Whitbread, Director, Occupational Health, Mr. Reginald Sewering, Director, Public Health Engineering, Mr. A.C. Tully and Dr. D.R. Warren.
We received a pleasant reception by Dr. Whitbread who had obviously perused U.3. Public Health Service Bulletins #712 'Public Health Aspects of Increasing Tetraethyl lead in Kotor Fuel". Along with Mr. Dowering, he is charged with the occupational health and industrial hygiene aspects of the Health Branch.
Mr. Tully outlined the purpose of our visit, the economic justification and the corporation's desire to maintain a high standard of Industrial hygiene In the distribution of Ethyl fluid.
Dr. Whitbread and Mr. Dowering expressed opinions that there was no health concern in their mind3 arising from the pro posal. Dr. Whitbread asked if any action was desired on his part, 3uch as formal approval. He was told by Mr. Tully that no statement was desired at this time as our visit was purely informative.
