Fiber processing for the sheet ' machine is by means of wet kollergang processing plus hydro-disintegrator. Their present standard fiber mix and processing for their corrugated sheets was as follows: (U0^ water added by weight) . Fiber Grade Cassiar CT Cassiar CE Russian P5-50 Russian P6-^5 Indian "C" ... % _ 15.16 13.63 b^M 15.15 10.60 Time in Kollergang for 150 Kg Load 15 minutes 15 minutes 9 minutes 9 minutes 15 minutes % Fiber in sheet - 12.79^ They normally substitute JM S^T3 for Cassiar grades when using J-M fiber in the mix. Shree indicated no problems with their corrugated sheet production when using J-M fiber. C. Review of Dust Problem / The Indian Government Environmental Division has been recently tightening -. / dust emissions and Shree has been told to either shape up or close down with I their management liable for jail sentences. Their present operation is / just indescribably poor. The wet end of the pipe machines is like "London I fog" with fiber floating all over from the fiber bins, which are "open air" I chambers where workers are sent into to shovel willowed fiber into.bags. . I Further, their wallowing system, instead of operating under negative pressure was actually a positive system, exhausting into the fiber bins I without dust collection.,^Ve a d y i s e d j ^ e e J|o..rep^^ I ^pLust collector which was 50^. goaded wdtK^filBer,.fwitH-Half of ,the__dust bags I ^rrken.^ ' i We further advised Shree to provide a dust collector for cement handling \ since at present there is no dust collection at cement handling areas, which \ results in cement floating al 1 over the equipment. The same was recommended \ for their pipe finishing operation, which has no dust collector and the existir air cyclones throw all of the fine dust into the atmosphere. Confidential - not for genera! distribution or republication GENERAL COMMENTS Mr. V. N. Somani asked what could we recommend to Improve their ovality problem for large diameter pipe, which is made without Blue/Amosite fiber. We informed him that J--M had developed a chemical spray system called "TEA" and that he would have to request our Technology Licensing Department for possible transfer of this technology. '
