Rowley CHICAGO OFFICE: Pittsburgh March 25, 1957 Dear Harold: Enclosed are all the drawings which Koppers has so far on these two (2) Jobs. Both jobs will be exact duplicates. We have received verbal orders for each and expect the con firming written orders this week. You will notice that Koppers has already sized some of the supporting steel. I called to their attention the fact that we may disagree with some of this sizing and if this is necessary, they willk make those changes. As indicated on the drawings, there will be two (2) angled burners in the incoming end wall and four (V) straight burners in each of the two (2) side walls. The end wall burners will be North American 3urner Company Number ^5^5-7. This burner has an outside diameter of 10". A burner block will be designed for it by Koppers to have a square opening of 10 l/2n each side. The side wall burners will be North American Burner Company Number 45V5-8A. This burner has an outside diameter of 15 1/V*. Koppers Is designing a burner block for it to have a square opening of 15 3A" each side. We will furnish the straight brick between the top of the suspended side walls and the roof. This will be in 60j Alumina quality. Koppers is insisting on 25-12 alloy hangers for the side walls instead of refractory hanger supports. I could not talk them out of this. They also are Insisting on the squared-off noses for the two (2) side walls. The delivery date on the Weirton job will be approximately June 1, 1957. Therefore, we should waste no time in ordering the alloy castings and the tile. I feel that we should not place any orders until Koppers has approved our drawings, but perhaps we can do some preliminary work especially In the refractories for which molds will have to be made.
