BESTEX DESCRIPTION Bestwall has two types of materials designed for texturing gypsum wallboard. Bestex #1 is de signed for hand texture finishes of many variations over drywall construction. Bestex #2 is designed for application with spray equipment. It can be used with from 1-1/2 up to 13-1/2 pounds of perlite per 25 pound bag of Bestex to give a wide range of textured finishes. Both products produce hard surfaced, white decorative finishes that have excellent light reflective qualities. For best results, ceilings and walls should be primed before being textured. Bestex #1 also available in 5 lb. bags, 6 per case. Mixing Specifications: Use clean, potable water. Coverage: Bestex #1--12 lbs. to 50 lbs. per 1000 sq. ft. of board depending upon texture. Bestex #2--16 lbs. to 88 lbs. per 1000 sq. ft. depending upon texture. Specifications* for various texture finishes with spray application of Bestex #2: 1. Orange Peel-- No perlite; approximately 2 gallons of water per 25 lb. bag of Bestex. Coverage--8 to 10 lbs. per 1000 sq. ft. of board. 2. Sand Finish-- 1-1/2 lbs. of perlite (preferably all through a 20 mesh screen) per 25 lb. bag. Coverage--12 to 16 lbs. per 1000 sq. ft. of board. 3. Simulated 13-1/2 lbs. of plaster grade perlite Acoustical Finish--per 25 lb. bag of Bestex; approxi mately 3 gallons of water per bag.
