lovember 8. 1978 R. V. MATTERN PLAINTIFF'S EXHIBIT Bob: SH-S80 I remain concerned about on-srte handling and storage of asbestos wastes. There is little doubt in my mind that we are not handling properly and would be highly vulnerable to citation if OSHA decided to conduct an inspection. The possibility of such an inspection is quite high with the priority OSHA has assigned to asbestos exposure. I appreciate the concern regarding costs associated with providing an adequate retention area but feel its justified based on practicality and quite possibly on economics. As an example, I question small quantities of asbestos will be shipped routinely because of coordination and paper requirements associated with disposing of it. RPF:ikg Be glad to discuss. R. P.
