The patient is at the present time confined in one of the state institutions and I have been consulted in the medical-legal aspects of the matter. The laboratory tests made about a year after the patient left the brass foundry are as follows*' Urine: O..Jp45 milligrams per liter of lead. Feees: 1.555 milligrams per kilogram of lead. From these tests and from a history showing the oatlent had been a worker in a brass foundry, standing over an oven from 'which it would be possible to have inhaled lead vapors I made my diagnosis as stated above. The insurance company physician, I understand, has recently made a test in which I understand there were no evidences of* lead in the urine. I understand they did not .check the feces at that time. I talked with Doctor Weber of the University of Kansas Medical School and ask him for the name of a -reputable, laboratory in whose findings I could definitely place reliance and he gave me your name. I also note from Johnstone's "Occupational-.Diseases-'' on page . 244 your name is again mentioned in connection with this work,. Accordingly I would appreciate your advising me as to the cost of your making the following analysis for lead content. 1. Twenty-four hour urine speciman. 2. Basophilic aggregation test. Z>. The alloy that was smelted at the brass foundry contained the following: Conner Tin Zinc read 83^ 4% Q% 5% This alloy was brought into the foundry in an alloyed state where it would be smelted into a liquid state and poured into sand moulds. It has now been about two years since the patient was employed in this place.
