Tioga Street, in the Philadelphia^rea, aied on September 21, 1955 at the age of twenty-one months as a result of lead poisoning. Specimens of toys taken from the child's home showed largely pure lead. Samples of earth taken from the rear yard of his home showed 0.2$ lead maximum. The question has been presented to our Division as to whether the dirt from the rear yard of the child's home could possibly have caused the lead poisoning. Right near the home of the child is an aluminum foundry which, to our knowledge, has not used or prepared any of the alloys containing lead. If so, at least only on rare occasions. I would like your help in this matter concerning this child who was a "pica" and consumed almost anything.
