COURT ACTION EXPECTED - FEDERAL We have been advised by the national Paint and Coatings Association, that rnprassnt oux company as well as tha majority of tha paint manufacturers, impending action ia being taken in the form of formal objactions to the FDA regulations. This ordinance does not affect aerosol paints until January 1, 1973. It should be noted the Chicago ordinance it identi cal to phase' 2 of* the federal law, however, it goes into effect one year earlier. . The,National Paint and Coatings Association and the Chicago Paint, Varnish and Lacquer Association intend to file in the district courts, against the Chicago eity ordinance on tne grounds it is unconstitu tional, it denies due process and equal privileges under the law. Also, it is understood the federal law, if held up in court, will pre-empt the Chicago law.
