This is the sene esterial "Mineral Wool Block" as marketed by Union Asbestos and Rubber Coopany os it is actually manufactured for them by Regie- Picher. Also, a letter from Phelan's Resins and Plasties on their willingness to use Monsanto's materials in the manu facturing of U-200 polyurethane for Union Asbestos. Also attached is a letter end sketch from Pittsburgh Corning for your consideration on expansion joint in low temperature service. The basic change, as mentioned to Mr. Hyde, was from Foster and Vimesco fire-retardant mastics to lion Oil fire retard ent mastics. Standard Lion Oil materials were specified in the original specification but replaced by competitors fire retardant materials after the rigid fire requirements were placed cm this project by our lacoranoe carrier. 002920 LAM022734 r Mr. G. Poulson 2 July 28, 1981 After revievlog the speciflcetloas with Lion Oil personnel, we find that Lion Oil now has fire retardent aaterlals on the market whichsee equal to or better then those specified. Frost , this standpoint, we ere very desirous of using our own aaterlals in the construction of our plant. In addition, the prices are considerably cheaper than those specified, and will allow complete elimination of one coat of weathering material on the cold Insulation. Mr. N. P.
