The decline in total savings for the year were outlined by Mr. Crimaldi. He forecast a dollar savings for 1974 at $88,920, and is optimistic in fore casting a good year despite rising costs. He reported leasing costs are also being raised 8-12%. He is anticipating that the major problem in 1974 will be fuel. The arrange ments of changing che system of credit cards for drivers has helped. This enables them to purchase gas at a greater number of locations. Fuel will also be made accessible at affiliate facilities of Ryder because the drivers now have Ryder credit cards. Mr. Crimaldi is now formulating plans in the event of a major fuel crisis. The exempt (horticultural or agricultural) commodities which were hauled last year at no profit could have a favorable effect on our fuel allocations.
