We caught a number of fish of several species at Jackson Shoals, including scaaa minnows and small bass for residue analysis on GIC. On Kerch 5, we obtained 23 small bluegiils iron Choccolocco Creek at Jackson Shoals (cs.. 150 yards below the confluence of Eastaboga Creek). Cholineaccruea levels were determined for 20 of these fish using the brains of 2 fish as a single sample. On VZaxch 7, cholinesterase levels were run on 10 bluegiils from our control-population at the Country Club. Although, these values may r.ot bo absolutely correct, they are close enough to assure us that chert- is no inhibition in the Choccoiocco samples. Our average velne 1 D 1 (1.72) compares favorably with those of control bluegills from. Choccoiocco Creek, that were reported by the SI Water Lab, especially if their very large specimens are quieted. (llote: Small fish tend to have higher AChS activity per unit weight of brain tissue.) Also, in our tests each Value represents too brains; they ran individual fish.
