Dear Dr. Gardner: I was very scrry I missed greeting you and talking with you in Pittsburgh curing the early part of last week, but it was necessary I caoch a plans-in order to return to New Ionic 'Wednesday evening and I was there fore obliged to leave the second d a y 's session before it terminated. However, I was there long enough to hear your very interesting report upon the experiments you have been conducting with funds provided by Air Hygiene Founda tion. ly principal object in writing you at this time is to call 7 cur attention to the fact that the arrangement embodied in our exchange of letters dated November 20, 1936 and November 23 1936, respectively, will soon expire. One further payment of 1,250 will become due towards the end of the year, which will make a total of $15,000 advanced'curing the past three years. In view of this fact, you nay desire within the near future either to provide us with a further Progress Report or a complete report and sunnnil on of the results thus far attained. If the report be final in character, I suggest it provide the answers, so far as possible to the specific questions with which the survey was originc-- i' concerned, as'well as any ether natters of interest or is-- portance observed by you during the course of your experi ments . f If you are of the opinion that further experissnts should be conducted, either to complete the original program or to provide a solution to other important aspects of the problem, I believe it would be well for you to ac company your report with a letter containing ycur suggestions along these lines.
