The violations described in this citation are alleged to have occurred on or about the day the inspection was made unless otherwise indicated within the description given below.
1 29 CFR 1910.1001(f)(1): Initial monitoring was not conducted in such a manner to determine whether every employee*1s2 exposure to airborne asbestos fibers is below the prescribed limits:
a) Plant Wide, Insulators -- When removing asbestos insulation during "tear out" jobs. The initial samples taken were not representative of jobs that exceeded thirty (30) minutes.
2 29 CFR 1910.100l(g)(l)(i): Caution signs were not provided and displayed at all locations where airborne levels of asbestos fibers may be in excess of prescribed limits:
a) Throughout the Plant -- When insulators remove insulation which contains asbestos.
