Borich: Reference is made to your letter of November 13, concerning a study performed by this Division of occupational exposure to uollastonitc at the Tntcrpace Corporation, Willsboro, New York. At the end of 1965, this Diviiion performed a controlled medical study of 51 miners and millers of ucllastonite a't the plane in question. The scudy included medical and occupational histories, physical examinations of the heart and lungs, chest x-rays and lung function testing of ventilatory and diffusion ca pacity. The findings of the study were negative. However, the mean exposure of these workers to wollastonlte was only 8.3 years with a range of 2.0-17.0 years. Since this was an Inadequate duration of exposure upon which to base any conclusion, this information was not published.
