Mail Code: 1101A Washington, DC 20460 AM 11; 3 b - p October 20, 2017 Dear Administrator Pruitt, As a career 35- year Air Pollution Control Engineer at the Connecticut Department of Environment Protection, now retired 10 years, I have been following your work at EPA with tremendous satisfaction. I started my environmental career soon after graduating with a degree in Engineering from the University of Notre Dame just after Richard Nixon signed the Clean Air Act and the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection was created. I was the 2nd person hired, remember it well! We worked tirelessly and diligently creating and enforcing new regulations for clean air taking great care to explain the new regulations to the industrial community. I did not have to wait very long to be assigned to an 'elite team' whose role was to figure out how to prevent folks in Connecticut from building new homes in the suburbs but 'forcing' them to settle in the cities to make the density greater for mass transit. The leader of this team reported to the Commissioner, Douglas Costle, and of course, he lived in the woods, a 35 mile drive from Hartford. After questioning the project as having no authority from the legislature, I was eventually removed from the team. I ran into the elites often as they came in and out of power, always using the environment as the 'tip of their spear' for other purposes even as the air got cleaner and cleaner (and all the jobs went to China). As the global warming' hula hoop was gaining steam and then Commissioner Gina McCarthy invited all the professional employees to join in the discussion with her 'open door' policy, I became formally "disinvited" to the party by her after I emailed "Reply AH" with facts questioning the scientific basis of the 'global warming' initiative I was told "I just didn't get it!" Trust me, I know what you're up against. Keep looking for the truth and moving forward to protect the environment without allowing the elites to take over the planet taking away everyone else's freedom.
