Carbon is the best pigment for metal protective paint--because it is
the most indestructible, because it has no chemi
cal action on linseed oil or metal.
Graphite is the best form of carbon for paint pigment--because
it offers greatest resistance to the oxidizing (disin tegrating) action of atmosphere and gases in it,
because its character permits of making best paint. Consequently greatest durability--as far as can be
secured in the pigment--it is to be found in the
purest graphite.
The pigment in Sh ERWIN-WILLIAMS Pu r e Ac h es o n Gr aph it e Pa in t is 93 per cent. pure. Made in electric fur
naces at enormous heat, all other elements which have no graphite protective value or which have disintregrating properties, are driven off.
Graphite paint with natural graphites as the pigment have from 13 to 60% graphite value
only. (One exceeds this--it approximates 75%.) While nature was making graphite she was also making and mixing with it other elements which have no value in metal protective paint.
Sherwin-Williams Pure Acheson Graphite Paint offers the greatest durability that science and ex pert paint makers have been able to put into metal paint. Vou can prove it. Make the test.
