j... we took shelter, noting that President Donald Trump told reporters that the (catastrophic flooding and other damage in Houston and other parts of the Southeast from two major hurricanes over the past month hasn't changed his views about climate change.
jin Congress, Senate Democrats are pressing EPA officials to explain their efforts to reorganize the agency and implement staff buyouts, including whether they conducted "any analysis" of how ongoing staff reductions would affect agency activities and (public health before implementing the staff cuts.
Staying in the Senate, two Democrats are blocking the Senate from voting on the (nomination of Susan Bodine, the Trump administration's nominee to lead EPA's enforcement office, because of concerns over the special counsel role she is serving (at the agency prior to her confirmation.
(And speaking of nominees, our daily news roundup noted that the Senate environment committee is poised to hold nomination hearings to consider Trump administration (picks to lead the air, water, toxics and general counsel's offices.
