The ingredients are the finest in pigment and oil combination to produce self cleaning properties and durability. Endurance is made in White, Black and twelve colors-- Ivory, Beige, Cottage Brown, Cream White, Colonial Yellow, Crylight Green, Shadow White, Cream, Tobacco Brown, Light Gray, Medium Gray, Thistle Green. Drying Time-24 hours-48 hours for recosting. Coterage--Apply at a spreading rate of 550 square feet per gallon. Application--Stir thoroughly before using. Old Painted Surfaces-Remove loose paint, scales, blisters and dirt Surface must be dry. All bare wood should receive a coat of Endurance Base Coat, or paint reduced as for new surfaces. Second Coat--Add small amount of turpentine. Third Coat--Apply paint as received, full body. New Unpainted Surfaces--Use Endurance Base Coat for priming. Jo *ty' v. OS' EVERON HOUSE PAINT Type of Product--A dependable paint for exterior use where economy is a consideration. This material can also be used inside the home on walls, woodwork, cupboards and many other articles. Drying Time-^iS hours. Coverage-- 550 square feet per gallon. Application-- For new exterior work apply at least three coats. The first coat should be reduced with a quart of raw linseed oil and a pint of turpentine. In the second coat omit the linseed oil. For the third and finishing coat apply Everon House Paint as received in the container. For old exterior work apply two coats, reducing the first coat with a pint of linseed oil and a pint of turpentine and apply the second coat full body. Allow each coat at least 48 houra to dry. For interior woodwork, all surfaces should be free from dirt and grease and thoroughly dry. If one coat only is necessary, use the material full body while if two coats are used thin with a half-pint of turpentine to each gallon. _ _ ?>Vfv r ENDURANCE TRIM AND TRELLIS COLORS Type of Product--A perfect finish for exterior trim on homes, store fronts, grill work, ornamental Iron, trellises, porch, furniture, etc. Made in six colors--Colonial Blue, Radio Blue, Chestnut Brown, Shutter Green, Royal Red and Light Yellow. Drying Time--24 hours--48 hours for recoating. Coverage-- Approximately 700 to 750 square feet--one coat. Application-- Stir thoroughly with a lifting motion. Old Painted Surfaces--The surface must be dry and free from dust, dirt and all foreign matter. Loose paint, scales and blisters should be removed. The entire surface should be given one coat of Exterior Base Coat before applying trim colors. Netci Unpointed Surfac m--Use Exterior Base Coat for priming, allowing 48 hours for thorough drying. On a two coatjob, ExteriorBase Coat can be tinted to approximately the finishing color by the addition ofPure Colon in Oil. This product covers and hides better than ordinary paint--one coat is equal to two coats of ordinary material and when applied over a first coat of our Exterior Base Coat produces a perfect two-coat job. It is so formulated that it resists the staining action of copper, iron and lead and to produce a white house that retains its original beauty throughout the life of the paint. This product is lead free, consequently ideally suited for use on the farm because lead bearing paint is injurious to livestock. The pigments are ground in refined linseed oil and a pale liquid dryer. It is a white that stays white, with a maximum of opacity, easy working qualities and long life. Drying Time-- 24 to 28 hours--48 or more for recoating. Coverage--700 to 750 square feet per gallon--one coat. Application-- Stir thoroughly, using a lifting motion. Old Painted Surfaces--Idake sure the surface is clean and dry. All loose paint should be scraped, wirebrushed or burned off before applying paint. First Coat: Add 1 to 2 pints of raw linseed oil ana about 1 pint of turpentine to gallon of paint, depending on condition of surface. Allow three days to dry in good weather. Second Coat-Apply paint as it comes from the can. New Unpainted Surfaces--Use Endurance Base Coat for priming. If not available proceed as follows: For Yellow Pine or Cypres, add one quart of raw linseed oil and two to three pints of turpentine to the gallon of paint. For White Fine. Fir or soft woods, add two or three pints of raw linseed oil and one to two pints of turpentine to the gallon of paint. Allow to dry three days in good weather. Second Coat--Use about one pint of turpentine to one gallon oi paint. On soft wood add one pint of turpentine and one pint of linseed oil to the gallon of paint. Third Coat--Use paint as it comes in the can unless paint has thickened somewhat in which case it may be thinned with about one- half pint of raw linseed oil to the gallon. Made from specially prepared oils to produce the elasticity, the adhesion, and to control penetration that is so necessary to exterior paint jobs. Base Coat should be applied without reduction although thinning 10% with turpentine improves working con ditions during extremely hot weather. Old Painted Surface*--Remove loose paint by scraping, wire brushing or burning off where necessary. Be sure the surface Is perfectly dry. Apply Base Coat to ail sections that have become bared by blistering, scaling or peeling and to the entire surface if the old paint is porous, chalking and badly weathered. New Unpointed Surface*--Use Base Coat full body, without adding any liquid. ' Two-Coat System--Titan-O-Ztoc or Endurance House Paint are the specified paints to be used without reduction as the coat over Base Coat for a specified two-coat job. To secure proper film thickness on a finished twocoat job, Base Coat should be at a spreading rate of about 450 square feet of surface per ion. The usual three-coat specifications on new work is recommended as it produces longer life. Replace liquid, stir thoroughly before ana during use. Any surface which shows indications of alkali should receive a wash coat made by dissolving two pounds of sine sulphate crystals into a gallon of water. Apply freely and allow to dry thoroughly. Old Painted Surfaces-- Remove loose paint, touch up bare spots aa recommended for prime coat on new work, then apply one cost of liquid Cement Coating. New Unpointed Sur/acss-First Coat, To each gallon of Liquid Cement Coating add one quart of Cement Miring Liquid. This should be applied liberally and brushed well into pores. Allow forty-eight hours to dry. Second Coat: Any spots on surface that show fiat, should receive a second coat. When spread in an even thin layer on glass it dries in about eighteen hours, forming a tough, elastic film similar to s Spar Varnish. It is obvious that thinning vehicles such as turpentine or benzine are wholly unsuited for use where Glidden Mixing Liquid is specified. AppKealion--Glidden Mixing Liquid it used to conjunction with Glidden liquid Cement Coating as a thinning vehicle where its need is indicated, such as lint coat work on woodwork; also for use as s priming coat, in conjunction with Glidden Liquid Cement Coating, on broken places, and uneven areas in cement surfaces, which are to be brought up to the general level with Glidden Concrete Patching Compound. Shingle Stains produce a soft, rich effect on the roof and give extra protection. They withstand the severest weather conditions, msintainingthelr attractive shades without fading or streaking. These Shingle Stains prevent decay, and preserve the life of a wood shingled house. Use to beautify and protect. Drying Time--24 to 48 hours. Coverage-- Approximately 150 square feet per gallon. Application--By dipping, brush or spray. Stir thoroughly before using Be sure surface is dean and dry. Old Work-- On all old work the shingles must be brushed and particular care should be used to see that all portions, particularly the edges, are well coated. Two coats are recommended. New Work--The most practical way to stain shingles is to dip them into a container which will accommodate at least a dozen or more at one time. Then remove them to another receptacle or trough and allow to property drain. This process will afford protection to all exposed surfaces. One coat is all that is required. Just as much should be applied to the surface as will give solid covering. For brush application, reduce with 14 gallon of Mineral Spirits and H gallon of raw linseed oil to the gallon. For better durability use H raw linseed oil but no mineral spirits. Should not be confused with the ordinary line of floor paints as it is distinctly dif ferent. It is especially adapted for finishing old and worn linoleum, new or painted woodwork, furniture, cement and inside or outside floors and steps. Drying Tim -12 hours, 24 or more for recoating. Coverage- 600-600 square feet per gallon--one coat. Application-Stir enamel well before using. Be sure surface is dean and dry. Remove polishes, wax or grease by washing with turpen tine. When washing cement with Zinc-Sulphate, allow to dry thoroughly before painting. Inside floors, Linoleum and Furniture--Reduce the first coat 10% with turpentine. Allow to dry overnight, then apply second coat as it comes from the can. Cement Surfaces-- If cement is new, wash with a solution of two pounds of zinc sulphate to a gallon of water to neutralize alkali in cement. Reduce first coat slightly with turpentine. Apply second coat as it comes from can. Porch Floors and Slept--On surfaces previously painted apply one or two coats If desirable. Allow overnight drying between coats. It is an excellent primer and sealer for plaster, concrete and brick and when added to wall paints produces a pigmented primer reducing the number of finishing coats necessary. It can be used as the vehicle in aluminum paints. When added to nouse paints, floor paints, or wall paints it imparts added durability, working properties, washability and enhances the gloss as well as the initial set of the paint. Application--Aluminum and Bronze Paints--Use 1 to 2 pounds of powder or aluminum paste to 94 gallon of Glid-Seal and H gallon of turpentine. Wall Finishes-- Two parts of Glid-Seal and one part of Flat Wail Finish trill produce an effective well-sealing primer. An intermediate coat should be mixed in the proportion of J4 to 94 of Flat. The finishing coat reinforced with one pint of Glid-Seal to the gallon will improve the flow and washing qualities and produce a soft restful sheen. Primer--Apply full body except on extremely porous surfaces of brick and cement when Glid-Seal should be reduced 26% with turpentine. Apply Penetrex as it comes from the can by either mopping or brushing it on to the surface. The best drying conditions are in temperatures of 70* F. After 20 minutes any excess material that has not been absorbed by the wood should be wiped from the surface with clean rags and in another hour the entire floor surface should be buffed with a pad of No. 2 steel wool to remove any grain of the wood that is raised, any excess material, and to produce a uniform appearance. Where two coats are to be applied allow 12 hours for complete hardening of thefirst coat. Any excess material remaining on the surface 10 minutes after the second coat is applied should be removed and the entire surface buffed with steel wool as recommended in the first coat application. Open grain woods require no filler as the second coat will sufficiently fill the open grain. Old floors previously finished must be cleaned free from all paint, varnish or other finishing materials previously used with either sanding equipment or paint and varnish remover. Heat Resisting Aluminum Faint is not recommended for use at the base of stacks where heat is intense, because no liquid can be developed that will withstand both high heats and the weather. Application-- Remove the paste container in the top of the can. Sufficient liquid should he added aluminum and thoroughly mixed with it to form a thin paste consistently. This mixture should then be added to the remainder of the liquid. It will be found to mix more readily, evenly and free from lumps. It is recommended for tar paper, composition, or asphalt roofs. It will rejuvenate weathered roofs and insulate with a silvery sheet of aluminum, all in one coat. It sharply reduces roof and inside building temperature in hot weather. It decreases heat losses in cold weather. For surfaces to stand trucking and heavy traffic we recommend one part Portland Cement, two parts dean sharp sand, three parts one-quarter inch stone or gravel and two parts of Masti crete. For foot traffic use one part Portland Cement, four parts dean sharp sand, two parts Masticrete. Water should be added to either mass in a quantity sufficient to produce a consistency resembling mortar. All materials are to be measured by volume, not weight.
