Attached are the results of asbestos exposure monitoring for two days on insulators at the Institute Plant while removing asbestos on lines at the #2 dock area. One area sample result is included in the data. A 3-inch steam line and two 3-inch product lines were stripped on the risers and the overhead piperack across the roadway. Glovebags and enclosures were not used because it was not feasible according to the Construction Department insulation craft representative (Asbestos Competent Person) and the 512 Plant Industrial Hygiene Department. Employees used a powered man-basket to reach lines that were overhead. Area was barricaded until removal of asbestos was completed. Employees wore two pair of coveralls, headcovers, boots, gloves and AO R57-A half-face HEPA cartridge respirators. No street clothes were worn.
