Industrial hygiene monitoring was conducted with your personnel during the month of January. The purpose of the monitoring was to determine employee exposures to asbestos during insulation removal activities on Exchanger E-1086 located at LPG As summarized in the Attachments, the area air sampling result was within the Occupational Safety and Health Adminstration (OSHA) permissible exposure limits. The personal air samples indicate that the PEL of 0.2F/cc was exceeded on an employee that was responsible for handling the bags. A review of the sampling data sheets indicated proper protective clothing and respiratory protection were worn by the employees during the monitoring period. According to the OSHA regulations you must communicate the report to the affected employees and I would encourage posting of the report in an area accessible to other similar craft personnel for their review also.
