Report Language "Sediment Guidance.-When implementi ng the recommendations of the Superfund Task Force, the Agency should consi der addi ti onal improvements that will address an inconsi stent appli cati on of sedi ment guidance among
regions. At sites expected to exceed $50,000,000, the Committee encourages the Agency to include the Contami nated Sedi ment Techni cal Advi sory Commi ttee [CSTAG] and the Nati onal Remedy Revi ew Board [NRRB] throughout the process and to ensure that thei r techni cal revi ew and remedy recommendati ons are incl uded in the final remedy. Addi ti onal1y , the Commi ttee encourages the Agency to set achi evable cleanup goals, broaden the use of adaptive management and early actions, explore the uti1ity of public-private
partnerships, expand stakeholder participation, and promote cost-effectiveness, redevelopment, and sustai nabi 1ity in the Superfund process.
Superfund Task Force.-The Commi ttee is encouraged by the Agency's efforts to improve the implementati on of the Superfund program, includi ng the creation of a Superfund Task Force, whi ch released 42
recommendati ons that aim to foster a more data-driven, safe and ti mely cleanup process at sediment si t e s . The Commi ttee urges the Agency to expedi ti ously implement these recommendati o n s , and integrate them into remedi es for si tes currently undergoi ng investi gati on or where remedies have been selected in the 1ast 5 y e a r s ."
