A major source is a source with the potential to emit 10 tons per year of any one hazardous air pollutant or 25 tons per year of a combination of hazardous air pollutants. Enesta@epa.gov> Subject: Re: Delisting of Asphalt Plants Basically, now, but I can wait until noon my time. I reached out to Michele Huitric, the PIO for Region 9 in San Francisco, almost a week ago with questions, including the one regarding the delisting of asphalt plants. I only got her reply at 4 pm Pacific Time yesterday. I tried to research it last night on my own and found the listing on the EPA website that showed asphalt plants were delisted in 2002, but with no further explanation. The plant manager of the Tahoe Asphalt plant in South Lake Tahoe has indicated this means that asphalt plants are safe but environmental groups say otherwise. I just need to know for my article what exactly delisting means to the EPA in the context of plant safety and the production of hazardous emissions. I am out of time to research it further myself or I would. I would appreciate any information you can provide. Thank you.
