It is my understanding the City of Rocky Mount is requesting federal funding to reconnect and enhance Downtown Rocky Mount by expanding the streetscape, adding new multimodal facilities, creating a downtown gateway park integrated into Main Street, and constructing a pedestrian bridge that will provide access across a railroad that currently divides the heart of the city. It is my understanding that funding would allow the City to complete the next steps of pre-construction activities and fund the final design and construction of this project.
