Date 5/27/75 Subject Security Guard Procedure For Handling Personnel Dosimetry
Due to the large number of people to be monitored under the new dosimetry program, it has been decided that the guards will be responsible for "parts" of the program. Your duties will consist of placing the gas bags and pumps on the individuals and entering information on the dosimetry sheet. You will also retrieve the equipment at the end of the sampling period. We will be sampling approximately ten people a day.
Listed below is an outline of your responsibilities in this area,

I. etry sheet will be placed in the guardhouse by the plant hygienist listing the people to be monitored the next day. This sheet will also include the department in which each individual works and also the job title of each individual. As the people come in the following day, it will be your responsibility to take the following steps.
1, Place a gas bag on the individual and enter gas bag number on dosimetry sheet,
2. Turn on pump and install on individual. Check pump for proper operation and speed. Model SP-2 pumps should be set at 2 on the speed control knob.
3. Open valve on bag and attach tube to valve.
4. Enter time started on sheet.
5. When individual returns, turn off pump, disconnect tube and close bag valve,
6. Enter stop time on sheet.
7. Question individual as to whether repiratory were worn and enter on sheet. (Mark yes or no).
8. Put pump on charger.
NOTE: Persons having problems with the equipment should notify Owen Tubb. Ttoey should not call the guards.
