I am sending you herewith a report giving the results ob tained on the eight additional men.
A few comments on these results seem to he amply justified.
I have gone over the information contained in your letter

convenience. It Is quite apparent that there are certain
spots of significant exposure in your Shot Tower. I have a
limited familiarity with the operations In such a plant and
I recognize that the opportunities for lead exposure may
vary considerably with the different occupations^^!^^.s

have resulted from considerable variation in their intake

in the Interpretation of these results is the actual length
of time they have been on the job. Your comments Indicate
that several of the men are new employees, but it Is Important
to-'know what you mean by that statement. That is to say, I
should know whether they have been exposed a few days, a few
w e e k s , or a few m o n t h s . Any change which might take place
in the blood levels within a few days would be very signifi
cant , but if it developed only over a period of m o n t h s , It

would he much less Important. This further information, there fore, would he quite useful in connection with the new men. Also, the exact date on which anyone of the men moved from one joh to another would also he significant.
After examining these data yourself, you may have some question in your mind concerning their significance in relation to other facts which you may have concerning the work of these men and the care they take in protecting themselves against exposure. I should he glad to give you any help I can in the further in terpretation of the results to your practical advantage.
Just for the sake of the greater convenience to ourselves, I am enclosing herewith an additional invoice to cover the cost of these sixteen additional analyses.
