PUT IT IN WRITING The Occupational Safety and Health Standards, section 1910.93, d, (111) states that to have an area declared below the action level for VCM you must do the following.: (1) Set up a monitoring program to determine the employee exposure, without regard to respirators* (2) Shall be repeated at least monthly where any employee is exposed, without regard to the use of respirators in excess of the action level. (3) May be discontinued only when at least two consecutive monitoring determinations, made not less than five working days apart, show exposures at or below the action level (0.5 ppm).
