Cracks and holes in ex isting walls and ceilings should be filled and finished smooth. New or old construction should be clean and free of dirt. The surface should be painted with one coat of white latex primer. This provides uniform adher ing qualities over the entire wall or ceiling ' - 1 surface. Remember the rougher the tex tured finish desired, the more hiding quali ties. Care must be taken however, to finish off surface defects properly. Protect wood work and trim during application and re move all drops and splatters before they harden. APPLICATION ORANGE PEEL- G-P DenswalP Wall Texture (See instructions below) ROUGH- G-P Polystyrene Special spray equipment available at many Rent al Equipment Dealers is used here. Both Polystyrene and Denswall'1' Texture should be allowed to soak before spray application. Bag directions give cor rect mixing instructions with water. The compressor unit should be adjusted to 20-30 psi for Polystyrene thus reducing the amount of texture bounce-off. The pressure may be varied for Denswall Wall Texture to get different effects. Higher pressure results in finer sprays. Experiment with a piece of scrap gypsum board to get the desired effect. A two-coat application at right angles to each other is best for good coverage. Note: Unless you have used paint spray equipment be fore, you may want to choose another texture style or contract with a professional applicator. Polystyrene ceiling texture does not produce a washable surface. Use Denswall Wall Texture paint ed over with a good gloss or semi-gloss paint. Avoid using Polystyrene ceiling texture in high moisture areas such as bathrooms. SWIRL- After following mixing instructions on G-P Dens wall Wall Texture, simply spread on a uniform coat of texturing and create! Professionals often use sponges to obtain interesting texture effects. Spend some time experimenting--it can really be fun! STIPPLE- Denswall Wall Texture must be thinned down to a `creamy' consistency. Spread on your walls or ceiling similar to the technique you would use in painting with roller paint equipment. BROCADE- Ready-Mix'* joint compound is used here to create fascinating designs for ceiling and walls. Dab on large quantities, of Ready-MixTW compound and smooth down peaks. We recommend working an area about 3 sq. ft. at a time, then blending as you progress along the wall or ceiling surface. Start in a corner and work across and down the length of the room. 1 I CLEANUP I. The key to good clean up is starting before it dries.
