Williams Metallic Brown Iron Oxide, B-3875F, was submitted for consideration and when compared to our closest coded pigment R^2l4 was found to he darker and not as red in mass tone, and much stronger and redder in tint. 2) A *bample of Hyvis Telo from Tri State Minerals was submitted for consideration, and when compared to our -188 was found to be lighter in color, more opaque and under the microscope showed approximately the same structure but the particles appeared to be smaller in size. 3) Eagle Pitcher submitted a sample of Zinc Oxide to match our Y/-33, mas8 tone was the Bame, tiftt was slightly weaker and oil absorption and fineness were the same. Satisfactory as a source, 4) Eagle Pitcher submitted a sample of 35$ leaded Zinc to match our -6, mass tone was the same, tint was slightly weaker and oil absorption and fineness were the same. Satisfactory as a source. &~ ,5) Imperial submitted their C-152, C.P. Green, to match our 2 mass tone was lighter, tint yellower and oil absorption and fineness were the same. Material was not satisfactory as a match. 6) A series of 45 new pigment standards have been processed and shipped out to the various plants. 7) A new Bausch and Lomb monochromatic colorimeter model 35 has just been received. Procedures are to be set up shortly for the determination of trace quantities of Iron, cobalt, manganese as well as the inhibitor in Btyrene and the percent polymer in styrene to name a few.
