While on hold, Womack called Don Mayer. Advised phenol probably from Shell and would crystallize at 40C. and should be no problem (ambient temp below 10Ft), Further advised to get B of L for more information.
Ms. Chandler, Emergency Service Dispatcher at Centralia, Mo. called Womack and advised it was chlorinated carbolic acid, (ortho chlorophenol fractions for Reichhold Penta production) and confirmed with Mayer that product shipped from Krummrich Plant on 1/8/79. Advised diking and sand coverage, personnel should have rubber shoes, suits, and breathing apparatus, corrosive and poisonous; and we would dispatch a team.
