It vas brought out at this meeting that Workmen's Compensation is divided into tvo' areas; those uhich belong to the S & C Division and those which belong to the plant. The problems of the S & C division are no pre-placement physical examinations, no periodic physical examinations and the fact that the men, although are employees, are hired out of a hirine hall and stay with us -- only a limited period of time. During this time ve are susceptible to work men's compensation claims with special regard to pulmonary diseases, i.e., asbestos. _ Mr. Harter brought out the fact that the insurance companr, although they document the case, frequently lose it before the Workmen's Comnensation Concession in the various states. It was pointed out that we believe that the number of claims will increase. The case reporting taice place were again reviewed. The local S & C operation is to forward notice of any compensation alairr.r to my office as well as copies to Boh Logan. Bob, in turn, is to make up a roster once a month to submit to Marshall Briley of the pending cases.
