MERRITT RETURNS TO PHILADELPHIA BRANCH 0 Lieut. Col. Morris H. Merritt, secretary of John T. Lewis & Bros. Co., has returned to his desk after serving three years with the United States Army Air Forces. Colonel Merritt, who joined Lewis in 1916 and served for two years in the U. S. Army during World War I, entered the AAF in September, 1942 as a Major and was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in September 1941. He served as commanding officer of the 304th Training Wing at Greensboro, N. C. and later as unit commander at this AAF post. ZANG CELEBRATES 40th SERVICE ANNIVERSARY J. A. Zang, white lead sales manager of Atlantic branch, observed his 40th anniversary with the Company on September 25. A luncheon party with his associates marked the occasion. Mr. Zang started with Atlantic m 1905 as an office boy, moving progressively through practically all departments of the branch. In January. 19 39, he was put in charge of white lead sales. ROWLEY MADE PRODUCTION MANAGER AT CHICAGO E. R. Rowley, plant manager of Magnesium Reduction Company during its operation by National Lead Co. for the Government, has been appointed production manager of Chicago branch. Mr. Rowley started with the Company in 1933 m the mechanical engineering department at Chicago. In 1939 he moved to the production department in New York where he worked until his transfer to the magnesium project at Luckey, Omo, m July, 1942.
