Research and Development Vinyl Chloride Analysis: PVC resins and films Dear Duane: This letter will confirm our telephone conversation of January 20, 1975, concerning the vinyl chloride monomer analyses which I reported to you. These analyses were obtained using our revised GC method of analysis which utilizes a TERGITOL E-35 column instead of the Chromosorb 102. We are sparging the 1HF solvent with nitrogen to remove some unidentified impurity which was interfering with the vinyl chloride peak. The sample siz being injected into the chromatograph is 40 pi; however we have a back-flush valve in the system, thus preventing the solvent from reaching the detector. Tabulated in Table I and attached to this letter ar the vinyl chloride results. As can be seen from these data, all of the samples contain less than 0.1 ppm vinyl chloride. call. If I can be of further assistance don't hesitate to Regards, AEG/vl Attachment A. E. Gabany, Jr. TABLE I vinyl CHLORIDE ANALYSIS OP VINYL CO-POLYMER RESINS AND FILMS PROM D. 0.
