Hormel Gelatin The multi-batch in-plant evaluation of this raw material has not been completed to date. The initial one batch run per formed satisfactorily. 2. In-Process a. Filter Cloth The nylon monofilament cloth NY76W42 from TET will be used as the standard cloth in "A" Plant, with an expected cloth life of ten to twelve weeks. b. Slop Program As a result of a meeting with Production, Process Engineering and the Pilot Plant, a program will be set up to closely mon itor any occurring slop. Details will be worked out with Pro cess Engineering and Production. c. Residual VCM The analysis capabilities were improved by increase of the sen sitivity to a low as O.S ppm of residual VCM in solution. Ni trogen will be evaluated as an alternate carrier gas to further increase sensitivity. The analyses performed during this report period concentrated as residual VCM determinations in vinyl sheet samples submitted by the Nixon Plant. As in previous analyses, decreasing thick ness and aging of the films seem to contribute to reduction of the residual VCM. Furthermore, studies to check reduction of residual VCM during processing were conducted. A method has been written covering the above analyses and a technical report will issue covering the above work. B. Compound Plant 1. Raw Materials a. Plasticizer and Lead Analyses <p * A total of fourteen plasticizers and five lead assays were per formed in support of the Compound Plant. The lead assay will be discontinued temporarily pending the re pair of the exhaust hood in the Analytical Laboratory. COLORXTE 0X3884 Page 3 C. Flemington -Plant- 1, Pilot Plant a.
