Grumbles April 15, 1991 EPA VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION VISTA FLAN: VISTA'S As discussed at the Plant Manager's meeting last week, Vista has been "Invited", along with many other companies, to participate in the Industrial Toxics Project, EPA's new initiative for achieving voluntary reductions of 17 chemicals. In order to determine what Vista's response will be, we need emissions reduction data In a fairly short time. Specifically, we need the Information below by May 1. In summery, EPA is asking for commitments to quantitative omission reduction goals. 1. What ere your plant's actual emission reductions for the specific chemicals listed on EPA's priority list? 2. What do we anticipate our emission reductions for the listed chemicals will be in the next 3 years based on anticipated projects or process modifications? For example the reduced use of lead stabilizers should reduce our lead emissions. Emission reductions for this program are defined the same as for SARA 313. Emissions to all media should be counted. EPA is asking for a company wide reduction goal at a minimum, with the option of providing plant specific goals in the future. We will evaluate the data before determining which way to go, if any.
