Peirce and Brooks will revise by April 2 the proposed matrix of activities for the Sauget sites to reflect comments made at the meeting. The revised matrix will only contain activities involving the landfill; activities involving Dead Creek will be put in a separate matrix. The community relations plan for the landfill RI/FS was discussed, including the need for a community attitude survey, a document repository, two public meetings and periodic newsletters to update residents and community leaders. It was decided that Monsanto would attempt to learn, through Warren Smull, who the IEPA community relations contact for the project will be and to get him or her involved early on in the community relations planning process. The pros and cons of using focus groups was discussed. The . decision was made to use employee focus groups, informational briefings with selected public officials and a briefing to the Krummrich Community Advisory Committee, The contract between Monsanto and Fleishman-Hillard was discussed.
