Regarding the next session of the "dioxin" conclave: I prefer Wednesday at 1 PM.
Reactions to my first quick read of the document.
1. The structure has been changed considerably and, in many parts, for the better. I think that tables, matrices, and figures would be useful tools for summarizing some of the mass of information which is currently in textual format.
2. The paper refers to a number of EPA analyses which either have not yet been discussed by the group (e.g., Steve's half life analysis) or have not been critically examined in the past few months (e.g., the quantitative epi). I believe the group should discuss these in order to feel better about their characterization in this paper.
3. I am left with the nagging impression that the document could be viewed as an apologia of the LMS view-of-the-world offered with a Masoretic tenacity and zeal. Rather than describing "degrees of comfort", we now systemically cast things aside as categorically "inappropriate". In the end, we have one arrow left in our quiver, which (by definition?) becomes "appropriate".
4. I do not see a bottomline. Am I to infer that the group's general view of .1 pg/kg-d is maintained?
I would appreciate hearing some first impressions of others prior to our next gathering.
(Where did you get tht picture of Hugh? It's much better than the one I have!)
