Dear Ur. Johnstone:
I am sending you herewith a copy
results ob
tained on the urine and blood of f l j H m i ^ T h e s e results
were wired by Dr. KItzmiller 3 ome o a y ^ g o T T t is quite ap
parent that there Is a considerable discrepancy between the
results obtained on the urine and those on the blood. The two
blood samples checked each other fairly satisfactorily, and one
might assume that they are correct. On the other h a n d , there Is
a possibility that both of these samples were contaminated to
approximately the same degree. I would not stress this point
too much, but when the blood findings fail to agree with the
urinary results we are always a bit uncertain as to their signi
ficance. The possibility of minute contamination is always
present, and even with very great care, contamination occurs
with great frequency when the samples are taken in an Industrial
plant. A little dust filters Into the medical offices and Into
the examining rooms, and the slightest slip in technique results
in rather gross contamination.
Hot only are the results on the blood high in this instance in relation to the urine, but they seem a bit high to me in rela tion to the history,as indicated In your letter. Consequently, I should feel that another set of samples should be obtained. If you wish to wait a few days In order to allow some opportunity for decrease to occur, this will he quite all right. However, I do believe that the results should he Checked.
Just to keep the record clean between iis, I am sending you a bill to cover the cost of these analyses.
Cordially yours,
RAK ef Enc.
