Carr /File In answer to your questions, during our meeting on AR901 on June 24, 1971, concerning the addition of plasticizer to the resins during paste preparation and the waiting time for running clarity evaluations, the following information has been established: I. Addition of plasticizer during paste make-up A. At no time is any plasticizer withheld from the resin during preparation of plastisol pastes. II. Waiting time for Clarity Testing A. The paste used for running clarity evaluations is deairated immediately after mixing, and allowed to stand in our constant temperature room until four hours after mixing. At the end of this four hour period, the paste is drawn down and fused. At no time does this aging period extend beyond four and one half hours at the' most, and never less than four hours. The above facts were established by both conversation with individua: technicians and observation of the methods. -When we have arrived at a method where all groups concerned can produce uniform results, a procedure will be written to assure that each technician uses the same conditions when running the clarity test.
