C. 20036 Dear Joe: As a follow-up to my letter of May 26 to Don Goodwin requesting a meeting with the EPA staff to review possible changes in the Vinyl Chloride Standard, I called his office yesterday and spoke with Jack Fanner. He was aware of my inquiry regarding the meeting and, in Mr. Goodwin's absence,' spoke for the Engineering Department. He advised me that he understood that a new proposed Standard on Vinyl Chloride was in the process of being approved by the EPA Administration and was scheduled to be published in the Federal Register on June 2. I indicated that we were most anxious to have a meeting with the Engineering staff prior to this new regulation being published and requested an opportunity for industry representatives to meet with them sometime on June 1. He indicated that he would have to review this request with EPA counsel and on completing this review he called back, to Teport that they did not feel it would be appropriate for this meeting to take place.
