I wish to place two names in nomination for this honor based on the contributions which they have made over a period of years to the cause of industrial hygiene. First, I wish tc suggest .'illiam ?. Yant - secondly. Dr. Carey P. McCord. I am giving Bill's name first as I feel that since a medical man gave our first lecture it is only fitting that the second lecture be given by a person who is non medically trained. Neither of these men hold any official position with our association and while I do not think there are any insurmountable bars in this connection it is probably preferable that this honor go to a non office holder or member of our Board of Directors (this in view of possible criticism;. The person to give this lecture snould have ample time to prepare suitable material, and this may be particularly important in Bill's case as he i3 extremely busy and prooably does not have as much control over his time at the moment as Dr. McCord dees. He undoubtedly can dig down into the bag of work he has done over the years and find considerable amount that has not been published which will be of-interest, or I would be happy to hear a paper on standards, their development, advantages, disadvantages, etc. If you should happen to reply to this letter, I would appreciate some explanation as to what is back of this meeting place squabble as I have been quite out of touch with things and not a great deal of attempt has been made in the last couple of years to keep the Board of Directors very well informed.
