For your convenience we have prepared a list of NIOSH-Approved respirators available through us. It is particularly Important to you that any res pirators you purchase be NIOSH-approved because earlier Bureau of Mines, approvals expire on the following dates.

March 31, 1976 Chemical-cartridge respirators.............................. March 31, 1976 (Except certain self-contained breathing apparatus which may be upgraded and relabeled.) To make selection of the proper respirator easier, we have broken down the highly technical classifications into general terms that are more, easily understood, and, in addition, have inserted some typical examples of use. All of the official descriptions and limitations have been re tained. To use this list, simply look for the kind of material (or combination of materials) against which you need protection. Select from numerous choices given. Because we are not manufacturers who are limited to selling what they make, we can provide this wide array of choices, and provide you with what you really need. Note that "fume" as used in this table means very fine particles from melting metals, smoke, etc., such as from welding or melting lead. It does not rean vapor from a volatile liquid. As an example, from gasoline. this would be classed as an "organic vapor.

APPROVED RESPIRATORY PROTECTIVE DEVICES
The following respiratory protective devices have been approved by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Mines and the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.
Dust, Fume, and Mist Respirators
DUSTS ONLY, Single-Use Respirators
(Limited to silica and asbestos-type dusts. Also okay for road, wood, grain, mineral wool, cement, talc, graphite dusts, etc. Not.for toxic dusts such as lead. Not for fume and smoke.)
Willson part number 1400 single-use respirator for respiratory protection against pneumoconiosis and fibrosis-producing dusts. Approval TC-21C-143.
3M model number 8710 single-use respirator for respiratory protection against pneumoconiosis and fibrosis-producing dusts. Approval TC-21C-132.
